Hey Guys!

Today I got a chance to try out and play with a pack of goodies kindly sent to me from Scatter Crystals¬†– they are an authorised UK distributor of Swarovski Crystal. Countless¬†nail technicians use their non-hotfix flatback Swarovski crystals specifically for nail art, and the results are striking! ūüíé

I was sent a mixed pack of 254 Crystal AB (Aurora Boreale) Flat Back Shapes. The AB crystals produce the most amazing rainbow effect in the light that shimmers tones of pink, blue & yellow. To buy the set, please click here.

I couldn’t wait to use them, so decided to demo a #blingky (blinged up pinky) inspired by @notorious_nails_ on Instagram (go check her out!)

Here’s my YouTube video Swarovski application tutorial:

Otherwise, carry on reading below….

After cleansing my pinky nail, and adding a gel primer, I decided to use Light Elegance Cool hard gel. I wanted a clear base and something that was going to hold for at least a couple of weeks!

I applied a layer with a gel brush and my base for stones was ready…

I then decided I wanted to use an array of the stones, so chose a raindrop as my central stone, then a mixture of SS5, SS7 and SS9 around it. The closer I got to the tip of my nail, the smaller of stone I used.

**TOP TIP**

I used a dotting tool with a small amount of nail foil adhesive swiped over the tip. Once it dried clear, it was super sticky!! This means the stones stay nice and shiny when picking them up and transferring to the nail.

So, once all your stones are in place you can cure your hard gel.

I then went in with a No Wipe Top Gel sealer and went in and around the stones with a super tiny detail brush.

Then cure your top gel, and that’s it! Because the top gel has no tacky layer, there’s no need to wipe any residue from the nail!

Here’s the final result! (Pic taken on same day, but after a quick design change!)

To summarise, this pack is absolutely brilliant value for money – for those who are nail techs, the stones work at under 10p each! There’s a fantastic variety and shapes to suit all.

Thanks again to Scatter Crystals for sending me these!

See you soon!

Sarah xoxo

Heroes & Villains Collaboration with @NonaPhilippa

Hey guys!

Welcome to my very first Blog post!

NonaPhilippa and I have started our 2016 quarterly collaborations again on our YouTube Channels!

Our theme this quarter is Heroes & Villains. We chose Disney’s Sleeping Beauty and the classic tale of Good vs Evil!

~HERO TUTORIAL~

We decided I would depict¬†Aurora ~¬†Sleeping Beauty¬†herself! Here’s what I came up with!

IMG_2507.JPG

I really wanted to incorporate the rose thorn bush, as her name was Briar Rose when she was living in the cottage with the good fairies. I also wanted to attempt a decal with the Prince¬†(which turned out better than I thought!) I also incorporated the ‘Once upon a Dream’ phrase and a silhouette of the castle.

I used a gorgeous base of Madam Glam Bubble Gum and Magpie Beauty Two Faced Dust in ‘Iris’ to create ¬†a gorgeous magical sparkly hue. Luckily, I also had the help of the BBF Plate 40 ~ perfect for Sleeping Beauty!

All the items and details of stamping polishes & stampers are listed in the description box of my YouTube tutorial here.

~VILLAIN TUTORIAL~

NonaPhilipppa has depicted Maleficent brilliantly with her sparkly mani!
